The Where's Waldo Edition

The Where's Waldo Edition

February 12, 2025

The last few weeks in AI have felt like drinking from a firehose.

🚀 DeepSeek shocked the industry with its ultra-efficient AI model, sending ripples through global markets.

🤖 OpenAI’s new models were released, teasing AGI-like advancements.

🇪🇺 The EU announced a 200 billion AI invesment push, followed by France's 109 billion.

And that’s just scratching the surface.

If AI news were “Where’s Waldo?” book, we’d be staring at a page so jam-packed with chaos that we’re not even sure what we’re looking for anymore.

So how do we executives and leaders make sense of it all?

More importantly, how do we take action?

Fear not, I am bringing you Waldo on a platter (ok this is a bit too dramatic 😂)

With all this AI chaos, it’s easy to feel lost. But the good news? You don’t need to follow every single breakthrough. You just need to find Waldo (I believe I said this already 😂)

Do this ask yourself - or anyone in your organization - these three key questions to find your own Waldo in this AI madness:

1️⃣ What’s the ONE thing in my role/team/business that takes too much time or money to get done?

Forget AI for a second - just focus on problems. Is it decision-making? Compliance? Customer service? Content creation? The best AI uses don’t start with the tech - they start with the problem.

2️⃣ Where do I see my competitors, partners, or industry moving with AI?

AI is going incredibly fast - It's only mid Feb 2025!! If you’re standing still while others are experimenting, you’re already behind. Look around – how is your industry using AI:

  • Are competitors using AI-generated product designs to prototype faster?
  • Is Generative AI being used to personalize customer interactions at scale (e.g hyper-personalized email campaigns)?
  • Are businesses in your sector automating internal knowledge management (e.g., AI-powered documentation & onboarding chatbots)?

3️⃣ Am I /are we AI-literate enough to use these tools effectively?

Do we truly understand it AI? Many organizations rush into AI adoption but forget that without education, even the best tools go underutilized.

  • Does our leadership team understand AI’s capabilities and limits?
  • Are our teams equipped to use AI tools in their daily work?
  • Have we built a culture where AI is seen as a co-pilot, not a threat?

Bringing It All Together

AI isn’t slowing down. But instead of chasing every new development, the key is knowing which AI breakthroughs matter to you—and taking action accordingly.

I know this is the weirdest call-to-action ever but...find your Waldo.

Focus on real business problems. Keep learning. And most importantly - experiment before it’s too late.

I'll see you next week.
