The 'This is not the Way' Edition
For a long time, I've been anxiously looking out for the next big Gen AI novelty, tech, platform or use case.
When I saw this stat, something dawned on me.
This is NOT the way. We might have the best technology, perfectly trained models, impeccably clean data and 100 internal and external use-cases.
But if we're not training everyone, from junior to senior, from marketing to sales or finance, the promise of Gen AI will take a long time to materialize.
Why?
Remember those days when the SOLAR-POWERED calculator on the right felt revolutionary? And the transition to the ELECTRONIC on the left was exciting?
How long did it take us then to go from one to the other? And from that to Excel?
When we did that, we didn't care about "enterprise use-cases" or instant results, but making it work for us. We asked questions, played with the tools, attended trainings.
I'm not saying the technology is not important. I'm not saying we don't need to get the data fundamentals right.
I'm just saying we have better shot at making AI work for our companies.
If we first spark interest and inspire our people first.
This is The Way.
